I was on the fence about this purchase for a couple years. With purchased reviews messing up ratings all over Amazon, I was skeptical. Would this work? Really? For the price, I’d be very upset if it didn’t. Anyhoo, after lots of research and waffling, I went for it.
At first, it’s kind of a pain because you have to use it so frequently, but it eases up pretty quickly. The worst part for me was having to shave before use because I have SUPER SENSITIVE skin. When having to use it several times a week, I was having to shave every other day which is pretty painful for me…. hence wanting a better hair removal solution.
After the first few weeks, I was able to use it once a week. I immediately noticed that my hair growth had slowed a good bit. At this point, I only have to shave like once every 10ish days! And I’d be lying if I said I was using this religiously…. I have young kids, my husband works nights so I’m flying solo with them in the evenings and I work 45-60 hrs/wk at a physically taxing job, so I have very little “me time” and what I do have of that I enjoy spacing out on a video game or crocheting. Even so! I am having great results! (Very light skin with light brown hair)
The device itself is larger/bulkier than I expected, but I’ve never used/seen one of these up close so I have no means of comparison. The buttons work well… though I do recommend using the “glide” function… the main button is fairly click-y and I could see it getting stuck or popping off with extended use. The “sapphire ice”( or whatever it’s called) works like a dream! The only time I feel anything is in ultra sensitive areas featuring coarser and darker hair. The literal only thing I wish was different is that the light shines through the air vents and the seams around the device. I wish this was shielded better.
Again, I have super sensitive skin, and if I slap some moisturizer on my skin when I’m done, there is no pain and no irritation.

The unit is effective at slowing and reducing/eliminating hair growth. The fast setting is fast, BUT that means the device’s motor gets hot quicker and shuts off automatically. You can turn it back on and keep going, but will continue to run into the device shutting off throughout the session, which probably isn’t great for the life of the device. There are two bulbs that are supposed to make it more effective and a slightly larger flash area. Eh… I don’t see it as any better than my cheap off-brand device.
Although the device is effective, none of the extra convenience features make it any better or more effective than the cheap one I bought on Amazon. In addition, my cheap version has 999,999 flashes and the Ulike has 300,000. That was disappointing because the Ulike was more than 5 times the cost. Hmmmm…
In addition, I was unlucky enough to have the histamine reaction some people have to the light pulses. It has nothing to do with this particular device. Some people just get it and some worse than others. If you get these bumps/rash that are unsightly, and extremely itchy, I’ve used Benadryl cream right after to reduce the severity. I also found that the lowest setting on any device prevents the reaction for me. I am pleased enough with the results over time, that I am trucking along and continue the process. I just have to be more patient and slow going than those who don’t have the histamine reaction.
At the end of the day, yes, I use and am happy for the most part with the Ulike. Will I spend the same amount again? Absolutely NOT.

My device DID NOT STOP WORKING, but when I thought it did, it actually was a temporary issue. I just had hair in the filter of the device or something like that because I blew on the back like an old Nintendo tape and it went through nicely. THIS WORKS!!! it took me longer than the advertised 6 weeks to get hairless BUT no longer than 8 or 9.. it is a pain in the ass to shave every two days in the beginning but after you power through it, it’s great. I am hairless! I love it. Thank you to this very affordable device.
Ps. It did give me some sort of allergy reaction on my legs only, it would itch like a mfo but after a short break it became more doable and I managed to continue treating the area but keep that histamine cream around

‘ve bought many different types of hair removal devices before, from large ones to smaller–more targeted ones. But they all ended up sitting unused. When I saw the ad for this product claiming to be an “ice-point” hair removal device, I didn’t quite believe. The ones I had purchased before also claimed to be painless, but they still hurt.
After reading many reviews, I decided to give this one a try. It was very surprised the device head really is cold! The manual suggests letting it run for a short while before using it, and honestly, it made the process completely painless! I tried it on my arm, and after just a few sessions, the hair hasn’t grown back for almost a month now. For more stubborn areas, I used it consistently for two weeks and started seeing results. After taking a break for a week, the regrown hair was noticeably softer.

I’ve been using this device for about three weeks, about two times a week, and I’m already noticing some results, particularly in my chin and jaw area, where I had the coarsest hair. About three years ago, I started laser hair removal for my armpits, arms, bikini area, and most of my face. The only downside is that you need to shave frequently at the beginning. I hadn’t shaved regularly for about 10 years because I had completed laser treatments on my legs, so I mostly used methods that removed the hair from the root and would give me a couple weeks before I had to do them again. It has been so painful to shave again and my skin gets very irritated and itchy, some areas I can’t shave again in a week, so it’s gonna take a bit more time but I’m confident it’s gonna work.
Some things to consider to make your experience better, turn on the device and allow the ice-cooling thing to cool before you start, and try to let it cool a bit between areas. Shave as close to the skin as you can, because the light can burn the hair if it’s a bit grown, you may feel the heat and it hurts a bit (this is noted in the instructions). If you live in a warm climate, try to have the AC turned on while using this because it heats up and the air from its ventilation is warm, so it will get a bit hot. Also, the device stops the flashes when it gets too hot to prevent overheating, so I’m doing small areas for now and letting it rest a bit inbetween.
Be very careful with this, follow all the recommendations and instructions from Ulike and you should have a great experience. Will try to update this in a couple months and see if all the shaving was worth it, hopefully, it will be.

I tried the air 3 with the first two photos. (First two photos were a day after shaving and using air 3 for a few months. Last photo is 2 days after shaving and using air 10. And i mean, i shave about 15% of what i used to shave away. The middle of my armpit has really thick hair so it’s been taking longer to get rid of. I highly recommend the 10 if you have THICK DARK HAIR! Don’t waste your time with any other device. My confidence is back with my bikini line and armpits!! Hair (if any) is very easy to manage now and not nearly as many ingrown hairs as before (i would get a million while shaving every day before lhr). This device has saved my sanity.
Full disclosure, i have been using the 10 for over a month now and most hair is gone but i am not hairless by anymeans. I have extremely thick and curly hair so I would shave it and you will still be able to see the stubble just because of how dark and thick my hair is. It took a little bit to figure out how it works, but I’ve learned what level to set everything at so it doesn’t zap me. I haven’t shaved in almost a week and my skin is so smooth. I am a paler Hispanic person with dark hair that I felt like would instantly start growing back. It has also pretty much cured the red bumps on my armpits that made me so self conscious. As a person of South Asian origin with pitch-black hair and light/medium olive skin (around a MAC NC30), I have always struggled with hair removal due to my naturally thick hair. Shaving was inconvenient, as hair would grow back within a day. Waxing and sugaring were messy and painful, and the smooth results lasted only about a week before stubble and ingrown hairs appeared.

Full-body treatments (legs, thighs, arms, and underarms) took at least an hour each time. After a month, I began to notice significantly less hair growth. I’ve been trapped between a rock and a hard place! I really want to get my facial hairs removed but the dermatologist office said I had too many grey hairs and the lasers don’t work for those. I’ve used it on my underarms only four times and there is significantly less hair. Holy cow! There is sort of a burning smell (since it is burning the hair I’m fairly certain ) but no pain.
